Thanks to funding from Coventry City Council, Made in Cov grant, we are proud to launch our first project. An exciting new theatre project that celebrates the experiences of people of Irish and mixed Irish heritage in Coventry. Through creativity, storytelling and performances, we are creating an inclusive space where participants can explore identity, build confidence and ensure that Irish voices continue to be heard by future generations. More than a drama programme, Irish. Here. Heard. creates a space where stories are shared, identities are celebrated and a new generation can shape the future of Coventry's Irish community.
Join our highly experienced freelance artistic associate Kathi Leahy for free weekly sessions, where through drama workshops and theatre games you will explore:
- Irish history
- Introduction to the Irish language
- What it means to be Irish in Coventry
- Practical skills in movement, voice, devising and role play
- Storytelling

Our first professional theatre production
'Inár gCroí go deo'
Seanchaí Associate Creatives are a group of committed volunteers who have worked with us to shape our first story.
The Seanchaí Collective have commissioned a group of Coventry based creatives to work on the telling of our first story, the story of Message to Margaret.
'Inár gCroí go deo' tells the story of the family of Margaret Keane, an Irish family based in Coventry who were denied an Irish only inscription on Margaret's headstone by a Church of England Consistory Court. In partnership with the Belgrade theatre we are working towards launch September 2027.
We are working with Keith Allott of Badshoes film on the feature length documentary of the story of the court case, the landmark victory, the impact on the Irish language in Britain and the campaign inspiring the Fontaines DC.
